- Eligibility
- Families apply through their home council's secondary application by 31 October 2026. Those seeking an academic or music place must register for the South West Herts Consortium assessment in Year 5; the tests take place in September of Year 6. The school's assessment criterion applies to Year 6 to Year 7 applicants living in its published priority postcode area. A School Information Form is additionally required for the children-of-staff criterion.
- Score policy
- Academic ability is assessed in verbal reasoning and mathematics; up to 94 places are offered in descending order of standardised scores, with no minimum score. Music aptitude has an aural first round and a performance second round. Sport aptitude is assessed separately on core movement skills. The school's postcode and oversubscription priorities still govern eligibility.

Who gets priority
Published area: WD3 to WD7, WD17 to WD19 and WD23 to WD25, AL2 south of the M25, HA6, HA5 3 and 4, HA3 6, HA7 3 and 4.
AL2 counts only south of the M25, and the HA5, HA3 and HA7 entries are postcode sectors rather than whole districts. Rule 5 assessment places apply only to Year 6 to Year 7 applicants in this priority area. A district-only check cannot establish eligibility; use the exact address and policy.
Open the official boundary informationAfter children with an education, health and care plan naming the school, the 2027 policy orders looked-after and previously looked-after children, siblings, qualifying staff children, then priority-postcode applicants. If the postcode criterion is oversubscribed, it offers up to 13 sport-aptitude places, up to 13 music-aptitude places and up to 94 academic-ability places, followed by at least 27 places by distance. Remaining applicants outside the priority area follow by distance. The sport test is specific to Queens' School.
For September 2027 entry. Policy checked 2026-10-21. A priority category does not guarantee an offer.
