South West Herts Consortium 11+
Seven partly selective schools share academic and other assessment routes. A consortium test is one step in admissions; each school and your home council have separate rules and forms.

How registration and applications fit together
- Register for the relevant consortium test through the consortium portal when the next entry cycle opens. The 2027-entry registration period has ended; check the official calendar for 2028 dates.
- Submit a Year 7 application to the local authority where your child lives. The consortium registration does not apply for a school place.
- Check each school’s current admissions policy and return any required supplementary information form by its deadline.
- Read the result under the school’s rules, then list preferred schools on the home council application. A score is not an offer or a single consortium-wide pass mark.
Check the 2027 result in the parent portal
The consortium calendar gives 15 October 2026 around noon; its FAQ says 16 October. Both dates have passed. Check the parent portal for your child’s result and contact the consortium if it is missing. Do not use these dates for a future cycle.
Dates for families applying for September 2027 entry
For Hertfordshire residents, the secondary application deadline is 31 October 2026. The consortium’s academic-paper marking review window runs from 15 October at noon to 2 November 2026, costs £50 and is separate from a school-place appeal. Families living elsewhere should check their home council’s deadline. Submit the council application on time while any review is underway.
Check the details for your school and area
For September 2027 entry, submit your home-council application by its deadline, even if you request a marking review. For Hertfordshire residents that deadline is 31 October 2026. Reviews are open until 2 November and are separate from a school-place appeal. For 2028 entry, check the consortium calendar for confirmed dates before registering. Priority areas, selective place numbers and supplementary forms differ between schools.
