- School-specific assessment
- Administrator
- The Board of Directors of Laetare Catholic Multi-Academy Trust is the admissions authority, with administration delegated to the Admissions Committee. The school test registration, school supplementary application and home local authority application are separate steps.
- Assessment provider
- The current policy and school page do not name an external test provider. Do not assume GL Assessment sets the test because the school links to GL familiarisation material.
- Delivery
- The current Year 7 FAQ describes two multiple-choice papers: verbal reasoning (50 minutes) and non-verbal reasoning (40 minutes). The page does not explicitly establish online versus paper delivery for the normal September 2027-entry test; its computer-based wording is in the separate in-year section.
What to do after the 2027-entry St Joseph's test
- St Joseph's said it would tell parents by 13 October 2026 whether their child reached the required mark of 105. The school does not give a grade. Papers scoring 103 or 104 are re-marked. Reaching 105 is not a place offer.
- If your child reached 105, name St Joseph's on your home council's application by 31 October 2026. Also complete the school's own online application from the link in its email, by the same date. If your child did not reach 105, the school says you cannot list it on the council form.
- Your local authority tells you which school your child has been awarded on 1 March 2027. If more than 150 children reach 105, places go by the school's priority categories and not by test score. If a place is refused, email or write to the College for an appeal form. The waiting list stays open until the end of December 2027.

1. Entrance test
The school scheduled sittings on 15, 16 and 17 September 2026. The required standard is an age-adjusted average score of 105. Scores of 103 or 104 are re-marked under the policy.
2. School information and allocation
After reaching the standard, families complete the school supplementary application and home council preference form by 31 October 2026. If oversubscribed, the published Catholic, Christian and other priority categories apply; test scores are not used again to rank applicants. PAN is 150.

Scoring and eligibility
The entrance standard is an age-adjusted average of 105; scores of 103 or 104 are re-marked. Meeting the standard does not guarantee a place. If more than 150 qualify, the policy applies its oversubscription categories, faith and Pupil Premium rules, then distance and random tie-breaks where specified. No further reference to test scores is used when offering places under those criteria. The separate 2026/27 additional-place trial does not permanently increase PAN.
