1. Ripon Grammar School entrance test
For September 2027 entry, North Yorkshire Council organises a single sitting on 12 September 2026 at Ripon Grammar School. The two multiple-choice papers are Verbal Skills and Non-verbal reasoning with Mathematics. The Verbal Skills paper combines Key Stage 2 comprehension and spelling with verbal-reasoning questions; the second paper pairs non-verbal reasoning with Key Stage 2 Mathematics.
2. Result and coordinated school application
Results are issued no later than 16 October 2026. The entrance-test registration is not a Common Application Form: families must also name the school on their home local authority application. Meeting the test standard is not a guarantee of a place; the published oversubscription criteria apply.
