The school's booklet gives Friday 30 October 2026 as its Local Authority deadline, and Lancashire County Council's national closing date is Saturday 31 October 2026. Aim for 30 October. Families outside Lancashire must check their own council's date.
- Registering for the test with the school was a separate step from the council form. A test result is not a place offer. The local authority sends allocations on 1 March 2027, and appeals are heard by Lancashire County Council.

1. School entrance examination
The main 2027-entry route has three multiple-choice, age-standardised papers in Mathematics, English and Verbal Reasoning. There is no Non-Verbal Reasoning paper.
2. Qualification and coordinated offer
The Trustees' Admissions Committee sets a minimum academic standard annually. Candidates meeting the standard are ranked by aggregate test score within published admissions categories. Meeting the standard is not a guarantee of a place. Applicants must also complete their home local authority CAF.

Scoring and eligibility
All three papers are age-standardised; the aggregate test score is used to rank applicants. The school states there is no fixed pass mark and that its Trustees' Admissions Committee sets the minimum standard annually. Places are offered by rank within the published oversubscription categories and PAN (164 day places and 12 boarding places); achieving the minimum is not an offer guarantee. Submit your home council application by Friday 30 October 2026, a day before Lancashire's 31 October closing date, to be safe.
